Since we started, Oxford Brookes University has been of great support to us. They have provided us with one of the best venues in the new building for our screenings: the John Henry Brookes Lecture Theatre. We are a group of enthusiasts who are passionate about documentaries and want to bring to all of you in Oxford the finest, and best documentaries around the glo

We started our meetings earlier in February and since we have worked towards the setup of a fun club where we all have our responsibilities and a voice to determine the programme and the type of organisation. As a team, we enjoy our committee meetings every week and after the end of all our hard work will aim to obtain a certificate of recognition in helping to set up a club from scratch. >We aim to promote the very best independent, international documentaries at all levels – in our great JHB (John Henry Brookes) Lecture Theatre at Headington during the 24 weeks of our Academic years over two semesters starting at 7pm ; to engage not just the Students and Staff at Brookes university but also the public of Oxford to provide memorable experiences from documentaries which can inform, inspire and provoke thinking and discussion. >Our documentaries will show many different points of view relevant to particular topics. Subjects of interest will range across various categories which include Sports, Politics, Human Interest, Science, Technology, Nature, Animal rights, History, Crime, Geography, Historical and Fashion Geography/adventure, religion and cults, etc.
>We will show documentaries that we have chosen democratically which have been suggested because of their funny, touching, provocative and inspiring narratives.The documentaries will be fair, varied, unbiased and as neutral as possible.
>We want to challenge the assumption that documentaries are boring, factual and gloomy. We promise to bring to you cool, mind-blowing documentaries that will stay with you for days after you’ve seen them and prove what compelling narratives can be produced.
>We are convinced that documentaries should be shared and enjoyed with the finest company as if it were a shared cinematic cinematic experience. That is the reason we want to build a true documentary lovers’ community and share a relationship of warmth and friendship united by the passion about your love/hate for documentaries. To create a truly inspiring and engaging space of discussion and dialogue for each single documentary aftermath.
>We want to develop new audiences and to encourage further impact for the films we showcase to all (students, staff and general public). We aim to make Oxford a hub for interesting people, open minded and eager to discover the unthinkable.
>We would love to support, inspire and nurture new generations of independent documentary filmmakers.
