Some are second-hand, others are new, and little by little they’re being added to our online bookshop and to the selection we bring to the markets.

And from 8 November, you’ll also be able to visit us at our space on Park End Street.
We’ll have regular opening hours on:
📍 Tuesdays, 10am–1pm
📍 Fridays, 10am–1pm

You’ll be able to browse the stock, collect an online order, ask us to order a particular book, or simply come and talk books with us.

Visits will also be possible by appointment outside those hours.

It’s not a traditional high-street bookshop, but it will finally be a place where you can come and discover more of our books in the centre of Oxford. 📚🇫🇷

Small change of plan this week 📚

We won’t be at Oxford Brookes tomorrow, exceptionally.

But we’ll be back at Gloucester Green Market this Saturday, from 9am to 5pm, with all our usual selection of French books: fiction, children’s books, graphic novels, books for French learners, bilingual books and English editions of French authors.

So if you were planning to come and see us this week, Saturday is the day.

See you at Gloucester Green — and come and say bonjour. 🇫🇷

A quieter Sunday at the bookshop 📚
Today I’m continuing to add books to our online shop — checking titles, editions, prices and categories, and making sure everything is easy to find.
It’s one of the less visible parts of running a bookshop, but an important one.
Little by little, more of our French books are becoming available online.

Et bien sûr, nous aurons aussi avec nous :

A little French. A little imagination. A story only you could write. ✍️

This November, I’m starting small-group creative writing workshops in French — in Summertown, Oxford, and online.

I’ve been leading writing workshops for three years and have written four novels. What I love most is seeing how the same starting point can lead to completely different voices and stories.

You don’t need to have written before. There are two groups, based on your level of French, with room for first-time writers and those who already enjoy writing.

📖 Intermediate French
Write about a place that matters to you or imagine an unexpected meeting. An optional vocabulary and grammar handout will help you along — and is yours to keep.

🖋️ Advanced French & Francophone
Bring a character to life or turn a memory into fiction. You can be confident in French and completely new to creative writing.

📍 Tuesdays in Summertown, Oxford

💻 Wednesdays online

Each group meets every other week, from 6.30–8pm UK time. The same programme runs in both formats.

£30 per workshop · Six places · Book one session or several
You’ll also be invited to our private online space to share your texts and read others between workshops, if you wish.

Aujourd’hui, on vous attend à Gloucester Green Market 📚

La Petite Librairie française d’Oxford est sur le marché aujourd’hui avec plein de nouveaux arrivages.

Parmi eux, des livres anciens et de beaux classiques, comme Les Fleurs du Mal de Baudelaire, mais aussi des livres jeunesse, des T’choupi, des romans, des poches… bref, une sélection très variée à découvrir en flânant.

C’est aussi ça que j’aime dans les livres d’occasion : on ne sait jamais exactement sur quoi on va tomber.
