Before the curtain rises, here's a little behind-the-scenes reality... 🎭
Someone recently told us, "Everything just goes right for you at the theater." We smiled because the truth is...you usually don't see the challenges.
In just 8 months, we've:
🏳️🌈 Overcome repeated complaints and anti-LGBTQ attacks from one neighbor while continuing to be respectful and responsible.
🚪 Invested $8,000 in a new insulated garage door.
❄️ Kept aging A/C units alive (with $40,000+ in replacements on the horizon).
🐜 Caught drywood termites in our stage early and spent $2,500 protecting it.
🎭 Hosted 79 events - nearly reaching our original first-year goal in just eight months!
📋 Navigated permits, financial reviews, IRS filings, and all the behind-the-scenes work that comes with running a nonprofit.
🎤 Sent countless emails and made endless phone calls to book the incredible talent you see on our stage.
As Barry Manilow once said:
*"I learned more from failure than I learned from success. I learned from 'no thank you' so much more than from 'yes.'"
Those words couldn't be more true.
This isn't a complaint, it's a celebration of resilience. 💙 Every standing ovation, every sold-out show, and every magical night exists because of an amazing community that believed in this dream before there was even a stage.
🎉 We're excited to celebrate our 1st Anniversary this October and share our first Annual Report and vision for the future.
