⚡ Un año más, felices de ser parte de la Usina Guiones Breves Berlín , un semillero de nuevas voces hispanohablantes donde se cruzan talento, historias y miradas de nuestra región y sus diásporas.

De la mano de Maria Meira, y junto a nuestras queridas Cata Florez de urua Films GmbH y Lara Franzetti , volvemos a poner nuestro granito de arena para acompañar el crecimiento de proyectos increíbles y ayudar a que encuentren su camino desde Berlín hacia el mundo!

Y este año, además, tenemos como jurado a tres personas que queremos y admiramos mucho: , director de la multipremiada Bajo las Banderas, el Sol , el sol; Isona Admetlla , asesora de tantos films maravillosos desde el World Cinema Fund ; y Sven Pötting , tremendo curador del Filmfest Dresden .

La Usina, organizada en colaboración con el Instituto Cervantes Berlín , acompaña este año a 11 proyectos de cortometraje de creadorxs iberooamericanxs, en una edición que vuelve a demostrar la fuerza y diversidad del talento que se está gestando en la ciudad. ❤️

🐆 LOCARNO - NEW ACQUISITION! 🎬

We're thrilled to announce that LATIN QUARTER | Film Sales & EU Distribution has acquired world sales rights to "MALTRATO ANIMAL" ("Animal Budget"), the striking debut feature by director José Dell'Acqua Postiglione!

Set against Uruguay's 2002 economic crisis, the film follows a desperate veterinarian pushed into a clandestine world of illegal breeding and pharmaceutical trafficking to survive.

The deal was closed following the film's screening at Locarno Film Festival 's First Look, part of Locarno Pro 's industry showcase, spotlighting Uruguayan cinema in partnership with ACAU

Our LATIN QUARTER | Film Sales & EU Distribution team is heading to the world capital of auteur cinema! 🐆🎬

From August 5–15, we'll be at the Locarno Film Festival and Locarno Pro, meeting some of the world's most daring and brilliant arthouse filmmakers, gathered between Lake Maggiore, the Alps, and unforgettable screenings under the stars in Piazza Grande.

You'll find us mainly at Locarno Pro, with meetings at Hotel Belvedere, but also around the festival venues and, of course, at plenty of screenings and events!

Connecting with filmmakers, producers, festivals, exhibitors and distributors to champion our catalogue of bold Latin American voices and bring exceptional stories from the region to audiences worldwide.

Después de 22 años de exilio autoimpuesto en Suecia, Alejandra ( ), de 27 años, regresa a la histórica ciudad de Cusco para vender la casa ancestral de su familia. Lo que comienza como un trámite burocrático de rutina se transforma en un profundo enfrentamiento personal cuando descubre una verdad oculta: su padre no la abandonó simplemente cuando era niña, sino que está vivo, encarcelado y cumpliendo una condena por su militancia pasada en el grupo guerrillero maoísta Sendero Luminoso.

En contra de los deseos de su madre, Alejandra emprende un viaje íntimo hacia lo profundo de los Andes peruanos para enfrentarse al hombre detrás del mito, viéndose obligada a navegar su propia identidad a través de las heridas aún abiertas de la historia de su país.

Estamos muy felices de anunciar la adquisición del film brasileño A VERSÃO DA LEI (La versión de la ley), ópera prima de la directora Ninna Fachinello, producida por las bravas del carioca Coletivo DELAS.

Una historia que nos fue presentada durante nuestra reunión con el equipo en el Dutch Pavilion del del , y cuya adquisición se ha concretado gracias al magnífico y siempre útil espacio de negocios del mercado

A VERSÃO DA LEI es un film poderoso y defensor de las libertades. Del tipo de películas que nos gustan y por las que trabajamos a diario en su difusión global.
