Next Tuesday 1 September, show your support for a brand new film club as Maraschino FC have their first ever screening and have chosen a 90s Sandra Bullock banger!

They're screening THE NET at Crowd of Favours, doors 7PM, film 7:15PM.

"Our whole world is sitting there on a computer... just begging for someone to screw with." — Pretty apt for a film made in 1995! 🖥️

Sandra Bullock stars as Angela Bennett, a computer programmer whose life is turned upside down after she's sent a mysterious disc and finds herself caught up in a government conspiracy.

THE NET is a fascinating time capsule of early internet culture and was surprisingly prescient for its time. It also has the right amount of cheesy, entertaining 90s thriller energy!

Start the month of September strong, don't miss this, get your tickets via the link in our bio!

"‘It says here that you're... Cauc... asian? Well, they got that wrong. You're obviously white.’ Ten years later and that line is still cracking me up.

That should give you a good flavour of the kind of wonderfully silly, playful humour the film has. If you love Flight of the Conchords, another stellar New Zealand comedy, chances are you’ll love this too." - Martha, Digital Marketing Coordinator.

The 4K restoration of Hunt for the Wilderpeople is back for its 10th anniversary and it's this week's . You can read Martha's full review here: hpph.co.uk/journal/hyde-park-pick-hunt-for-the-wilderpeople

Ms. Diagnosed seeks to spotlight films with female protagonists* whose stories resonate with the lives & experiences of neurodivergent women.

It is a creative response to suggestions from the current health secretary that the UK is experiencing an over-diagnosis of neurodivergent conditions, with little to no acknowledgement of the decades-long under-diagnosis of neurodivergence in people socialised as women.

This film serves as a visual pastiche of colliding and intersecting allegories for neurodivergent experiences.

It's one of the best films of the 21st century. but also...
Everything Everywhere All At Once follows laundromat owner Evelyn Quan Wang as she leaps across the multiverse in a mission to save everything in existence from being swallowed by the endless abyss of a black hole, created by an alternate version of her daughter, Joy. As one of the universes is a rock universe that is what inspired our activity.

Come and watch this wonderful, wacky, weird and world class film on Wednesday, get tickets now!
