An award-winning Chilean filmmaker and writer, Scherson brings Roberto Bolaño's novel The Third Reich to the screen in SUMMER WAR, a film that explores masculinity, obsession, and the uneasy line between the simulated violence of games and the real horror of war.

“Many years passed, and the film slowly took on a life of its own and kept transforming because the world, and I myself, were also changing. The war resonating through those pages was a different war in the late eighties, when the novel was written, than it was when I first read it in 2010, and different again today, as the film premieres in this new state of the world that leaves us bewildered.”
