We are thrilled to share an update regarding a project from a previous edition of EWIP:

I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE, directed by Alisa Kolosova, will be celebrating its World Premiere at the Tribeca Festival this June.

We would like to congratulate Alisa and the entire team on this fantastic achievement and look forward to the film’s debut in New York!

We are excited to annouce that two films from the 2025 edition of EWIP have just been selected as part of the Cannes Film Festival Un Certain Regard section:

I'LL BE GONE IN JUNE, directed by Katharina Rivilis
ELEPHANTS IN THE FOG, directed by Abinash Bikram Shah

Both films will be competing for the Prix un certain regard as well as the Camera d’Or. We'd like to congratulate both films and crews!

Now its the start of a new funding initiative by our EWIP-Partner TFL that might be of interest to You : the TFL Audience Design Fund 2026, whose call is open untile 15th January.
The fund is dedicated to international co-productions at the post-production stage - feature films, creative documentaries, and animation projects over 60 minutes. It supports two films at the distribution stage through the implementation of innovative audience engagement and outreach strategies.
In 2026, two grants of €45,000 each will be awarded to companies submitting an eligible film, combined with mandatory Audience Design consultancies running from March to June 2026.

And the Winners are !
Film Projects with a Future: The awards of the 8th European Work in Progress were presented yesterday evening in Hamburg. The six-member international jury granted 14 prizes to promising film projects that could play a decisive role in the upcoming international industry scene. Thanks to new and long-standing prize sponsors, awards worth a total of €140,000 were presented. For the first time, EWIP took place in cooperation with FILMFEST HAMBURG and the MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.

EWIP - European Work in Progress geht in die nächste Runde und es freut mich sehr, dass immer mehr deutsche Filmproduktionsfirmen diese Chance für ihre Filme oder Koproduktionen erkennen.

Die erste Ausgabe des European Work in Progress (EWIP) im Rahmen des Filmfests Hamburg hat ihr Programm vorgelegt. Unter den 27 ausgewählten Projekten stammen 13 aus Deutschland oder sind deutsch koproduziert. Mit dabei: Titel von Dagmar Knöpfel, Marleen Validen und Thomas Janze.
