ACTRA National is encouraging Canadians to “Give BMO a Red Card” by contacting the bank directly and voicing their concerns publicly on social media, urging BMO to require its advertising agency to return to the National Commercial Agreement or hire an agency that will keep good Canadian jobs in the country BMO claims to support.

Congratulations to UBCP/ACTRA board director and voice performer, Brian Doe Chua on being acclaimed as Vice President of ACTRA National. Brian has long used his voice as a fierce advocate for performers' rights and now he'll use it to champion performers across the country.

⚠️ DO NOT WORK NOTICE - THE ART OF ROMANCE ⚠️
Wednesday, June 17, 2026

Attn: All Members and Talent Agents

Please be advised that THE ART OF ROMANCE is not signatory to a UBCP/ACTRA or ACTRA collective agreement.

It is a contravention of the UBCP/ACTRA by-laws and constitution for a union member to audition for, or work on, any non-union production in the recorded entertainment industry.

There are significant consequences for full members, apprentice members, and background members found to be auditioning for, or working on, a non-union production. There are also consequences for talent agencies found to be directing members to non-union work.

We recognize and appreciate the many members and agents who stand in solidarity with UBCP/ACTRA, particularly by refusing to participate in this and other non-union productions. We will update you if there is a change in the status of this production.

If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected]

In solidarity,
UBCP/ACTRA

Stories have the power to help us understand one another, challenge assumptions, and create connection.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ performers, creators, and storytellers whose voices help shape a more inclusive industry and a richer cultural landscape.

At UBCP/ACTRA, we're proud to support a community where everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard, and represented.

Happy Pride Month!
