The Greek-Australian Film Society is proud to announce our next free screening night on Thursday 23 July at Backlot Studios, South Melbourne.

6:30pm for a 7:15pm start 🥂

We’ll be watching three strong short films followed by Q&A with the filmmakers:

• Bowl Me Over by Angie Black
• From Dope to Dalai Lama by Jason Raftopoulos

Fresh off a successful festival run across the U.S., Corked is now streaming on Apple TV and YouTube Movies.

After the film, we were lucky enough to have director Jason Raftopoulos join our amazing vice president for a really great Q&A about the making of the film, the characters, and the realities behind the story.

First up, we are thrilled to welcome back next Thursday the 7th LEGENDARY Greek Melbournian Jason Raftopoulos for a special screening of his acclaimed film West of Sunshine.

“West of Sunshine (2017) is an Australian drama directed by Jason Raftopoulos, following Jim, a struggling courier driver and gambling addict in Melbourne’s western suburbs. He has one day to pay off a $15,000 debt to a violent loan shark, while unexpectedly looking after his young son, Alex”.
