Starved for a good rom-com? From the director of Anyone But You, ONE NIGHT ONLY is a modern take on the genre set in a fictionalised NYC where premarital s*x is illegal except for one night each year...

Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown) and Callum Turner (Eternity) star as two love-starved strangers who crash into each other on this chaotic and utterly un-romantic night.

Get in first at our screening on Wednesday 5 August at 7pm. Tickets include a glass of sparkling on arrival.

Thirty years after his passing, we look back on the films of a master director with KRZYSZTOF KIEŚLOWSKI: TWISTS OF FATE, presenting key works – including the Dekalog and Three Colors series – on Thursday nights, from 13 August to 29 October.

From early realist works in his native Poland to later metaphysical studies of the grand concepts at the core of Western civilisation, Kieślowski’s films provide a masterclass in the dramatisation of ideas, and the power of cinema as a tool for philosophical inquiry.

Tickets are on sale now. 3 & 6-film passes available.

We're devastated to hear of the passing of Sam Neill, the beloved Kiwi actor who starred in dozens of independent and blockbuster films, was a major supporter of Australian cinema, and touched the lives of millions around the world. We've had the honour of screening so many of Neill's classic films over the years, including Jurassic Park, Possession, Dead Calm, The Piano, My Brilliant Career, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and many, many more. Vale.

Good afternoon campers! Find release with our evening activity from (camp) director Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow) - a preview screening of TEENAGE S*X AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA.

Winner of the Q***r Palm at this year's Cannes, this psychos*xual slasher follows the attempts of an enthusiastic young director (Hannah Einbinder, Hacks) to reboot the waning Camp Miasma horror franchise. When she visits the original film's Final Girl (Gillian Anderson, The X-Files, S*x Education), a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.

Grab your bunk buddy and gather 'round on Friday 31 July at 7pm.

An uncompromising portrait of domestic turmoil, John Cassavetes' A WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE (1974) is this week's Cult Classics selection.

Gena Rowlands and Peter Falk give unforgettably harrowing performances as a married couple deeply in love but unable to express their affection in terms the other can understand.

Ah, we'd recognise that exterior anywhere.

Gordon St, Elsternwick photographed in approx. 1960, back when our beloved building was operating as the Esquire Theatre. Just under a decade after this was taken, the Esquire would reopen as the Sharon Theatre, only to be severely damaged when a fire ripped through the building. In 1971, the site began operating as Classic Cinemas and the rest is history.

Do you have any memories of the Esquire Theatre? We'd love to hear them!
