Dorothy is sent for electroshock therapy to cure her of her Oz memories but is transported back to a desolate Oz, where she teams up with new friends like Tik-Tok, Jack Pumpkinhead, and the Gump to restore the Emerald City.

RETURN TO OZ is totally dark and twisted sequel to Wizard of Oz and is coming for two showings in a rare theatrical return on August 14 and 16.

Rest in Peace to one of the most versatile actors of his generation, Sam Neill.

For most, he was Alan Grant in Jurassic Park. For others, they would note his ability to swing like no other in films like Possession, In the Mouth of Madness, Event Horizon and Hunt for the Wilder People.

In 1994, I was 8 years old. We owned a lot of tapes but one that was on constant repeat was Jan de Bont’s SPEED.

This movie took Keanu’s Keanu and blew it into the stratosphere alongside Sandra Bullock who exploded after this film. Not literally, of course. And then there was Dennis Hopper. Even in a mainstream blockbuster he’s giving a performance that feels much more intense like his notable other work in films like Blue Velvet.

The action is stellar, the chases are real and the chemistry is hot.

If you don’t know this film, a madman straps a bomb to a bus and triggers it at 50mph. If the bus dips below it will explode. Keanu is a cop. He’s gotta stop it. And Sandy, well she’s an innocent bystander that must take the wheel.
