It is summer my people! Please take care of your cakes from the heat, humidity or direct sunlight🌞!
Whether you are ordering from me or getting it from the grocery or anyone else. We cannot make magic buttercream lol, or any type of icing for that matter. Icings have fats in it that will naturally want to melt.
I have been asked if fondant holds up better, and yes, but to a certain extent. We still would use a layer of icing underneath that fondant. Fondant also gets really soft with heat and stretchy. It may hold up just a tad bit longer than just buttercream, but eventually it will begin to fall apart if left out too long.
Fillings also start to get absorbed into the cake making it softer and therefore making the structure vulnerable.
Always keep your cakes at room temp or cooler if it has fillings with creams. Bring it out
Within the half hr that you will be cutting it.
I always recommend to also let your cake person know that you will be doing an outdoor event so that they can make all the recommendations possible to ensure you will have a beautiful and great tasting cake!
