This single screen 1930 theater has been operated by Landmark since 1974. Located in the heart of L.A.'s Westside on Santa Monica Boulevard just west of the 405 Freeway, the Nuart Theatre features an eclectic mix of programming, as detailed in the quarterly Nuart Film Calendar. It is one of the country's most renowned and prestigious epicenters for independent film, foreign language cinema, docume

ntaries, animation festivals and restored classics. Having hosted many world premiere engagements as well as a number of highly anticipated film series over the past 30 years, the Nuart Theatre holds the distinction of being Landmark's first theatre acquisition. The Nuart also features frequent in-person appearances and Q&A sessions from stars and filmmakers such as Vincent Gallo, Pam Grier, Gena Rowlands, Penelope Spheeris and Julia Sweeney. In addition to hosting unique movies every Friday night at midnight, the theatre is also L.A.'s home for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which plays every Saturday at midnight. "Similar to New Beverly in that this Santa Monica theater, located at 11272 Santa Monica Boulevard, plays many classic films. But it differs in that The Nuart plays one film four or five times a day for an entire weekly run. The Nuart is enormous, and it plays the very best cinema has to offer. In addition to their week-long film runs, they screen a different movie every Friday night at Midnight. Upcoming films include contemporary classics like Clueless and American Psycho, but also an adults-only film like Enter the Void. Every Saturday night is a must-go event if you've never been: The Rocky Horror Picture Show, starring the Sins O' The Flesh!"
