On August 19, members of the Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice organized a pressure campaign to showcase, disrupt and expose City of LA investments that further promote and perpetuate the ongoing U.S./Israeli massacre in Gaza. Sebas of the HTC announced, “On behalf of the Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice, on behalf of the county of Los Angeles and on behalf of the people of Los Angeles who call this city home, we demand: DIVEST FROM GENOCIDE!

This Thursday at 7pm we have a zoom call scheduled to update on plans on the campaign for divestment by the City of L.A., and to work on setting up a division of labor - mainly subcommittees to follow different elements of the work. We are surveying all the registrants and others who are interested in working on the campaign to try to pick the best day for the next visit to City Council. They resume after a July recess beginning on Tuesday August 4th at 10 am. They are 3 times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. HTC is campaigning for Divestment from the City of Los Angeles. The City gov. is responsible for at least $100 million -and likely more - invested in Israel, the Israeli military sector, and in many of the U.S. corps that support the genocide in Gaza - including Amazon, Caterpillar, Lockheed Martin, etc. Go to https://tinyurl.com/LAdivest for more information.
