Happy September! This week’s After Hours pic begins our SOCIAL STRATA slate, where we programmed films that explore class, wealth, employment and all the wonders of late stage capitalism. Directed by Sean Baker (“Anora”), THE FLORIDA PROJECT follows Moonee, a young girl living with her mother in a motel just outside of the Happiest Place on Earth in Kissimmee, Florida. With an Oscar-nominated performance from Willem Dafoe, THE FLORIDA PROJECT explores life on the fringes in the shadow of Disney 🍊🏰

We are coming in hot TONIGHT with THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, presented by Bijou Film Board, Scope Productions and UI Dance Marathon!

The film starts at sunset, but bring your blankets and lawn chairs early to grab a spot on a lawn, enjoy some music. Feeling bold about your look? Participate in our runway walk-off contest! Show us your best strut down the park “runway”. The top three vote getters will get a prize. The fun begins starts at 6pm! Don’t be late. Would you want Miranda Priestly to know you were late?

A new semester can only mean one thing: a new After Hours lineup from the Bijou Film Board. Our Fall 2026 slate is here!🌙 Join us Saturday Nights at 10 p.m. at FilmScene (The Chauncey) for Hollywood Hits, Cult Classics and Deep Cuts. Attendees have the chance to win fabulous raffle prizes each screening and hang out with Iowa City’s amazing film community!
