Dipa Dahal - an investigative journalist we documented in 2024 has been appointed as Press and Research Advisor to the Honorable Prime Minister B***n Shah. We met her in the quiet and often risky work of asking difficult questions, and created a short documentary on her grit and a land grab issue she uncovered. Casting Call – Main Lead | Wellness Film Shoot in Nepal

We are looking for a non-Nepali actor currently based in Nepal to play the lead role in a short wellness video.

Locations: Kathmandu, Pokhara & Lumbini
Shoot Dates: Approximately 9 shoot days between Feb 23 - mid-March, 2026
Role: Female, 30-40 (or able to portray this age range)

We are a small, respectful production crew creating a visual story around healing, nature, and mindful living in Nepal. The main lead will appear throughout the film, engaging in gentle wellness activities in both indoor and outdoor settings including walking in natural spaces, yoga/meditation sessions, cultural experiences, and time in a swimming or spa environment.
Acting experience or prior on-camera experience is required.
Comfort being filmed, the ability to express emotions naturally, and confidence in front of the camera are essential. Photography/video familiarity is a plus.

Onion Films Nepal is seeking skilled, motivated, and responsible individuals to join our team on-site (office and field) as Paid Interns for YouTube content generation. These positions are open to early-career professionals or students interested in media production and digital storytelling.

These positions are open to female candidates only.
Role 1: Researcher (Paid Intern - 1)
Key responsibilities:
Conduct background research.
Support content development through idea research and references.
Assist with production planning, including coordination with contributors, characters, and locations.
Support communication and scheduling as required during pre-production.

Role 2: Videographer (Paid Intern - 1)
Key responsibilities:
Assist the lead/company videographer during shoots.
Support filming of B-rolls, interviews, still photographs, and behind-the-scenes (BTS) content.
Assist with basic equipment handling and on-location setup.
Support documentation of production activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
• Edit video content, including interviews, documentaries, and promotional clips
• Design visually compelling graphics for video, digital and print platforms
• Create 2D animation or motion graphics to enhance storytelling
• Collaborate closely with the creative team on storyboarding and concept development
• Ensure all output meets technical and visual quality standards
• Manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines

Qualifications & Skills
• Proven experience in video editing, graphic design, and basic animation

We love empowering young voices through visual storytelling!
Recently, we conducted a 3-day Media & Storytelling Workshop for 10 adolescent child leaders from Rautahat and Sarlahi, with the support of World Vision International Nepal.
Through filmmaking and digital content creation, these young changemakers learned to tell their own stories—highlighting their challenges, hopes, and aspirations.
