To our wonderful members and customers❤️

When we first opened our doors almost eight years ago, we hoped to create something special—a place where great films could be enjoyed in beautiful surroundings, where friends and families could spend time together, and where a trip to the cinema felt like an occasion.

Thanks to your incredible support, that’s exactly what The Rex has become.

Over the years we’ve shared thousands of screenings, welcomed familiar faces week after week, celebrated premieres, laughed, cried and applauded together, and watched our little cinema become part of the beating heart of Wilmslow🥹

This September, we will be taking a short intermission as we begin an exciting refurbishment.

The cinema will be closed from:

Monday 7th September until Thursday 24th September

As with any well-loved building, a little care and attention every now and then helps keep everything looking and feeling it’s best. The work taking place this September is about preserving everything that makes The Rex unique while adding some new and improved touches! There will be some exciting improvements behind the scenes and throughout the building, all designed to make your next visit even more comfortable while retaining the character and charm that have always been at the heart of The Rex.

We’ll miss seeing you during our short intermission, but every interval comes to an end. We look forward to welcoming you back on
