A huge and heartfelt thank you to our Atlas Community Company members who generously volunteered their time at yesterday’s Look for a Book event! 📚👀

Events like these are such a beautiful reminder of the power of community, bringing people together through creativity, storytelling and shared experiences.

We are incredibly greatful to our Community Company members, who not only give their time to performing but also wholeheartedly embrace opportunities to make a positive difference across our city.

It is these moments of connection, kindness and community spirit that make events like yesterday so meaningful.

Thank you to Sunderland’s BIDs Sunderland Literacy Aid for helping to make Sunderland an even more connected and vibrant place! ❤️🤍 you can hear more at BBC Radio Newcastle

What a wonderful morning in Sunderland celebrating reading!
Here are a couple of words from CIC Director Abi Lossius-

“A lovely morning down at the seafront for look for a book. Seeing the joy in people’s faces as they found a book was so heartwarming. It was also just so lovely to see people interact with each other sharing book recommendations, drawing pictures of their favourite books and talking about why they love reading. The little libraries have been such a success so far in making reading accessible and engaging with the community so attending this event felt like a celebration of that!“
