News just in

If youve noticed your TV picture looking a bit off after an update, youre not imagining it.

Over the last week, theres been fresh chatter in the AV world about TV firmware updates causing issues like stutter, HDR quirks, or handshake problems with soundbars and consoles.

What to do:
Check for a newer update (manufacturers often patch quickly)
Power-cycle the full setup (TV, soundbar, box, console)
Re-seat HDMI cables and use the right ports (eARC/ARC matters)
If it started right after an update, note the version number before changing settings

If youre stuck, message TVI UK. we can get it sorted on-site for you .

Throwback Thursdays
Remember MiniDisc.
Sony launched it in 1992.
Small discs, big promise.

What made it special:
✅ ATRAC audio (Sony codec)
✅ SP recording: 292 kbps
✅ MDLP modes: LP2 132 kbps, LP4 66 kbps
✅ Later Hi-MD could do Linear PCM (uncompressed) 1,411 kbps

Then the MP3 player landed.
No discs.
No moving parts.
Just thousands of tracks in your pocket.

MiniDisc still has a cult following today.
Portable players.
HiFi decks.
Collectors.

And yes, Anthony (Managing Director) still has an MD hi-fi in the office.

Tech moves fast.
Your setup should keep up.

Need a clean TV wall mount with cables hidden.

TV wall mounting professionals. No mess. No stress.

A quick look back at the journey.

Back in 2008, Anthony was working in Currys and kept seeing the same problem.

People were buying great TVs, but there was no proper TV wall mounting service to get them up safely, level, and with the cables sorted.

So he built TVI UK from the ground up to fill that gap.

• Started local, one job at a time
• Built on tidy work and proper installs
• Now over 5,000 installs completed

And now in 2026, we’re in the middle of launching nationwide.
We’ve already onboarded engineers, and we’re continuing to grow to cover the full UK by the end of 2027.

If you want it done clean, level, and with the cables hidden, message us.

TVI UK NEWS DESK.

News just in: Sony TV owners may finally be getting a fix for reported audio sync and dropout issues.

If your soundbar or AV receiver setup has lip-sync problems, it’s not always the kit. It’s often settings, HDMI signal path, or how the system is wired.
