Duty Manager Wanted - part time.
This is a hands-on role. You will be responsible for ensuring the cinema runs smoothly, delivering excellent customer service, supervising yourself and others, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for customers.
Key responsibilities
This is both a physical job and a desk/on-line job and so will need someone willing to do varied types of activity:
• Learning how to operate the digital projector and its scheduling software to organise and book films and other screenings, on an on-going rotational basis. This entails downloading and managing on-line documents and using various software (all activities are learnable with basic training).
• Oversee ticket sales, refreshments and daily cash reconciliation. Support/organise the delivery of special events, private hires and community screenings.
• Open and close the building securely – often on your own and on an evening.
• Deliver good customer service and be willing to resolve customer queries or complaints including a willingness to confront customers who maybe disturbing other customers.
• Ensure the cinema, foyer and public areas are clean, safe and well presented. This will mean vacuuming and some general cleaning and attention to detail in presentation. Complete daily operational checks and act on basic maintenance issues.
• Ensure company policies and licensing requirements are followed. Take responsibility for the general operation of the cinema during your shift.
• Supervise and support volunteers. Monitor health and safety, fire safety and emergency procedures. Maintain stock levels and make ordering requirements
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
• Friendly, confident and well presented.
• Someone who is self supporting and able to work on their own. Being self motivated with good problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, and able to commit to some varied working hours including working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable experience (but not essential)
• Some experience in customer service, retail or theatre/cinema operations.
• Cash handling and on-line sales/bookings experience.
• A drivers licence
• Holding an APLH - personal alcohol licence or willing to get.
• Some knowledge or interest in digital arts/ on-line media etc.
