THE FILMS, DATES and TIMES
Fri 16 September 8pm HOME d. Yann Arthus-Bertrand. No Cert but suitable for all FREE SCREENING | Howsham Mill
Through visually stunning footage from over fifty countries, all shot from an aerial perspective,we see an awe-inspiring view most of us have never seen of our planet. Through witnessing it's beauty the director hopes to provide a stepping-stone to further the call to action to take care of our HOME. Fri 16 September 9.45pm THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT d. Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez | Cert 15 | Howsham Mill
Although strictly not a documentary this was one of the first high profile features to make us a think it was. Filmed in 1999 by a group of students who document their search for an urban legend. They never return but their footage is later found to make this film. It has gained cult status, still scaring the living daylights out of audiences, particularly those watching it on a wooded island in the middle of nowhere with not even a roof to protect them! Sat 17 September 8pm SENNA d. Asif Kapadia | Cert 12A | Howsham Mill
Using documentary footage, this compelling film tells the story of Ayrton Senna's life. It's a skilled piece of film-making that knocks spots of many a Hollywood feature film. It promises laughter, tears, thrills and spills and delivers. Sun 18 September 8pm LIFE IN A DAY d. Kevin Macdonald | Cert 12 | Howsham Mill
Life in A Day celebrates the astonishing spectrum of life on Earth with unique personal stories documented on one day, 24 July 2010, by people from across the globe – it's an uplifting time capsule of happiness
