There is always something new: this week at St Nicks Arts Centre, we removed part of the earth bank and opened a vehicle entrance connecting our traditional parking area (in front of the church) to the new parking alongside the blackcurrant field, while also introducing a one-way traffic flow for parking. Thanks to the local fruit farmer's generosity, we have plenty of parking space for any kind of events, and parking and exiting have become even safer now. Thanks a lot to Michael Starling for organising all this work!

On Thursday 3rd Dec at 7pm in St Nicks Arts Centre, Swafield we'll screen a performance of Golden Boy from NT Live!

Josh O’Connor (The Crown; Challengers) leads the cast in this searing revival of Clifford Odets’ knockout American classic.

1930s New York, at the height of the Depression. Joe Bonaparte is a gifted young violinist with a future in music, until a chance at fame and fortune lures him into the brutal world of professional boxing. He must confront what he’s willing to sacrifice, who he’s willing to become and how to find his place in a world that demands he choose a side.

Brought to life with a live string quartet and filmed live from the Almeida Theatre. Olivier Award-winner Sam Yates (Vanya) directs this propulsive drama exploring ambition, identity, and the high price of success.

The film has a TBC age classification.
This screening is preceded by an optional fish & chip supper from the Fish Shop in Roughton (or bring your own food) that will be delivered at 7pm, the screening will start around 7:20pm. We will have a licensed bar at this event.

On Thursday 20th Aug at 7pm, at St Nicks Arts Centre we’re screening The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026), with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.

Come dressed in red? It will be fun!

It's a new comedy - the sequel to the original 2006 movie. Set two decades after the events of the first film, it follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway) as she helps Miranda Priestly (Streep) navigate a new media landscape and corporate threats to the survival of Runway magazine.

On Thursday 24th Sept at 7pm in St Nicks Arts Centre, Swafield we'll screen a performance of The Misanthrope based on the play by Moliere.

Award-winner Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) plays the title role in this razor-sharp reimagining of Molière’s classic dark comedy.

Telling the truth isn’t always that simple. Alice, a brilliant novelist, despises the carefully constructed lies of modern society. But the more she challenges those around her, the fiercer the backlash becomes. Soon, she must confront the price of speaking her truth in a world that would rather silence her.

Filmed live on stage at the National Theatre, Indhu Rubasingham directs Martin Crimp’s (Cyrano de Bergerac) highly anticipated play.

The film has a PG age classification.

The "Songs of Exile" concert at St-Nicks Arts Center last Saturday was very warmly received by the audience. Here is one of thank you emails we received after the concert:

"Moments among many that moved me:
Starting with a song about the birth of a son because God couldn’t watch over the death of a daughter.
And another song where the poet asks for the mercy of forgetting for a moment that they are the adults.
And telling us we are all on the warring side.
Clothes came into it quite a bit in the first half, needing some.
The cold (Some wonderful word?) water of love
And Maria, from Moscow, exiled, singing as a Russian, remembering Russia, sounding Russian - most of the music.

I found myself moving to the music, moving to the rhythm - that’s a good sign that the music is being expressed deeply, that the breath is natural? I’m not sure what it means. But I liked moving.
It was moving(!), the concert, it moved me.
I’d have liked more and more repeats of the last song.

And good to hear a jazzy encore.
