The L20 is the next natural step – Josh Close

After five seasons running the Mo-Sys L40 on ‘Slow Horses’, Key Grip Josh Close has now paired it with the L20 - now able to get to more exciting camera positions, mounting the ultra-compact and quiet L20 in spaces other remote heads would not fit.

“I’m using it in all those really hard-to-reach places. Hanging it off of balconies. On Jib arms - we had a lovely one shooting at Ghislain Castle where we did a beautiful spiral staircase.”

Josh is also using their interchangeability to reduce set up times.

“Being able to switch straight from a jib shot to another rig, I can have the wheels set up with this nice pop-up tent. Everyone’s comfy, and I can just switch over to the other head, without the downtime – bosh! Plug and play. It works with the wireless system and also has backpan. The backpan is fantastic on the L40, and now the L20 can do it as well.”

Great to meet new creative teams – fantastic to reconnect with our existing clients and partners

Mo-Sys touched down in Tokyo as part of the Grow London trade mission, alongside Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and the London & Partners team.

Our Global Head of Strategic Partnerships, Florian Gallier, was out meeting creatives, technologists and visiting innovation hubs – but just as importantly, he caught up with many of our valued clients and partners, including FOR-A and Bassdrum along the way. 🤝

Japan's broadcast and virtual production scene is moving fast, and Mo-Sys is committed to supporting them.

Catch James Uren and VP Pro live at The Assemble 🎬

With insights from his hands-on work with the BBC and Netflix, as well as developing the tools that Virtual Production relies on, James is pulling back the curtain on how Virtual Production is reshaping on-set practices for more efficient post.

Swing by our booth too 👀 – we'll be showing how VP Pro integrates with our camera robotics and tracking to make more informed on-set decisions:

✨ NearTime Rendering – live preview composites before you commit in post

✨ Cinematics XR Focus – pull focus between real subjects & virtual elements

✨ XR Set Extensions – no more fear of shooting off – go beyond the boundaries of the LED wall

Less guessing on set. Less fixing in post.

📅 Fri 10 July | 13:45–14:45 | Room 211
📍 Ravensbourne University London, 6 Penrose Way, Greenwich Peninsula, London, SE10 0EW
