One month today Regatta Tuesday and first day of HRR26. We have digitised videos, films and scanned images and photographs of Regattas from the past. Sometimes from the rower themselves and their own memories, sometimes from a relative from someone who rowed way in the past. All
special, all precious and we look forward to be down by the riverside to see this years contestants.

I’m loving organising our photos, my journey, my story and what will be our legacy. Scanning the photos and restoring the colours that have faded, rejuvenates them and really brings my memories back with small things like the shoes, wall paper, Easter decorations and more. The images that was shot on slide film, I haven’t watched for decades. Whereas those have aged better colour wise, they were without a projector etc inaccessible. Our photos are, apart from living people and pets, my biggest treasures.

A Fire Tablet is good. We can source them and set them up if necessary.

We’ve had a few customers lately, where a relative are very keen for them to see old cinefilms or videos, but there’s not anything in their house suitable to view it on a USB or DVD.

We used to have video books, but they were fun (and we sold hundreds) but they are not as sturdy and became too close in price to the more simple tablets, which came down in price, and is also more versatile, so we went in another direction.

The kids tablets are even quite shock and drop proofed and actually quite great for a senior generation less tech savvy and maybe the fine motoring skills are not as good as they were. The covers comes in different colours.

We try to help with a solution that will work. Tablets still need charging, but relatives or carers can help with that. They come in different sizes and weights and putting stickers on with instructions etc helps too.

Combination of images and footage (maybe even audio books) and more can be installed. Please be in touch if this is good for one of your loved ones.
