KINAARA SCREENING AT GFT

Writer/director Kal Sabir's short film, KINAARA (EDGE), will be screened at the Glasgow Film Theatre as an accompaniment to ABU (FATHER), a documentary about a turbulent father/son relationship.

The screening will be on August 11th 2026 at 6:20pm and is part of South Asian Heritage Month.

Produced by the National Theatre of Scotland, Kinaara gives a snapshot of the challenges of dementia care in the South Asian community.

Writer/director Kal Sabir's short film, KINAARA (EDGE), is an official selection and finalist in multiple categories at the West Lothian Film Festival.

Winners will be announced at a black tie event in November. The film was produced by the National Theatre of Scotland in 2024, and premiered internationally at the South Asian Film Festival of Montreal in May 2026.

WATCH ONLINE: Kinaara (Edge) by writer/director Kal Sabir will receive its international premiere at the South Asian Film Festival of Montréal - SAFFM .

Available online from May 4th to 24th, the film shares a snapshot of the challenges of dementia care in the South Asian community. It was produced by the National Theatre of Scotland in 2024/25.

HALF MARATHON MAN by writer/director Kal Sabir is now available to watch on YouTube.

Originally intended as a fun promo video for a fundraising campaign, Kal decided to re-purpose the footage after the funding target was met without the video.

Inspired by the Mission Impossible franchise and Tom Cruise running on rooftops, the three minute short was an educational project for Kal to learn editing on DaVinci Resolve.
