Yesterday we had the pleasure of supporting EDAS/Reach Youth Project at their open afternoon. Dave, king of the grill, was on form with sausages and bacon, Denise was whipping up teas and coffees galore, and Hannah, general wonderer, talker, and helper!

The afternoon was a celebration of EDAS/REACH's new office, garden and counselling space, and it was officially opened by none other than James Baker, a faithful all the way, no Traitors in our world!

Congratulations EDAS, and we really look forward to working with you more over the coming months and years too, jointly supporting some of our clients, and signposting across too.

Please excuse the somewhat amateur camera work, and the auto captions which aren't entirely accurate...we're still learning!

We are super proud of our team - yet another 5* food hygiene rating at our food and essentials bank after an unannounced visit this afternoon.

Teamwork, dedication, skill, and a good dose of humour and spirit, all make our organisation thrive, in sometimes exceptionally difficult circumstances.

Thank you Team FCS!

If you'd like to join us as a volunteer, please do get in touch. We're always keen to get people involved and sharing the knowledge, time, and skills we all have to give our community. Many hands make light work.

As well as hosting the walkers and invited guests, members of the public are welcome to join us this afternoon as part of the celebrations and to help raise vital funds. The scones are baked, the Pimms is in progress, the Ukelele band are tuned up, and the china polished!

We are delighted to be hosting the High Sheriff of Dorset, Dr Helena Conibear, as she completes the halfway point of her County Lines for County Lines fundraising and awareness walk

Her support for youth organisations across the county tackling issues that significantly affect our young people is hugely welcomed and appreciated, and we are only too happy to champion her work on behalf of all organisations.

It was a privilege and pleasure for Hannah to speak at the Lord Lieutenant's 'Recognising Dorset' event yesterday, sharing our unique story and mission as a Kings Award for Voluntary Services recipient, along with as well as hearing from other Kings Award for Enterprise award winners through the years, such as (who kindly hosted the event) , and @ . What better on a rainy summers eve than a beef casserole to warm the tummy?!

Some of our clients will be tucking into this freshly cooked beef and vegetable casserole this evening, having a well balanced and nutritious meal, that also doesn't require a costly oven cook, is vitally important for health and wellbeing, particularly if you have hit poverty and hard times, or are struggling with mental or physical health.

We cook meals, soups, pasta sauces, desserts and snacks, using fresh and whole ingredients, all the time at Ferndown Community Support, and our clients at the Food Bank can choose from a selection during their visit to us.

We couldn't do this without the generosity and kindness of our donors, supporters and volunteers, so thank you so much to each and every one of you who donates, spreads the word, comes to events, and volunteers with us, you all make a difference to our community.
