Tonight's the night! Our Halloween Quiz night is upon us! We cant wait to cogitate the conundrums, and the stretch the synapses with you all!

Ferndown Fella’s Walk and Talk, you have made our day/week/month! This is so wonderful, we cannot thank you enough for all of your generosity in supporting the community. We know only too well that mental health, physical health, community connection, and poverty and difficulty can all create a negative spiral and leave people in crisis in so many ways. But when we work together, regardless of income, need, love or any manner of these things, each of us can bring something to the table to start to solve and end this for our community, or simply provide the resilience and joy that we all need. We cant wait to continue working together with you, and look forward to hearing about your adventures!

Have you got any spooklious plans this half term, why not come along to the free kids craft sessions at the Barrington, Ferndown on Tuesday 27th October - 11am-3pm and Friday 30th October - 12pm-4pm.
There is no need to book, pop along and join us, grab a refreshment at the same time. Lets get the kids being creative and have some fun too.

Thank you Orchid House Surgery and the PPG group for a wonderful Wellbeing Event at the weekend!

We met lots of lovely residents, supporters, volunteers and potential volunteers too!

And, equally as good, it was a superb event to connect with lots of other lovely organisations doing wonderful things in the local area.

And, to top it all off, we raised our first £102 towards MISSION SANTA SACKS 2026!

These really are truly amazing, and we're so grateful to have been the recipients of some of these at the food bank and our community support services too for our clients. They are also very beneficial for people with ASD, anxiety and adhd. Thank you so much all you wonderful knitters, and to Douch for wool provision x

Small stitches, big comfort. 🐙

Did you know that the little crochet octopuses our wonderful ladies create can be a lovely source of comfort for people living with dementia?

Their soft texture and tentacles give people something familiar to hold, fiddle with and interact with, providing a calming sensory experience and something to focus on.

For someone living with dementia, simple things can bring reassurance, comfort and connection.

A huge thank you to our amazing Knit & Knatter ladies, who lovingly create these beautiful pieces for us to donate. 🧶

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, care and kindness they put into every single stitch. Together, we’re helping to bring a little comfort to those who need it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who stopped to donate, chat, find out more about, and show support to us yesterday in Tesco Ferndown, as we held another of our 'Supermarket Sweep' donation days.

Our volunteers really enjoyed meeting and chatting to all of you, and were bowled over by the kindness of you all. We are especially grateful to the wonderful gentleman who donated a whole trolley of foods after hearing about our work, and to Ferndown in the Community for allowing us to be there, and to the very kind donor of £150 in our account. Our hearts are full.

Your support means we can sustain our food and essentials help for those in the community who are really struggling. We see on average 35 households a day, 6 days a week, and we aim to be able to provide a baseline of essentials to support people whilst they get out of crisis and difficulty.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of supporting EDAS/Reach Youth Project at their open afternoon. Dave, king of the grill, was on form with sausages and bacon, Denise was whipping up teas and coffees galore, and Hannah, general wonderer, talker, and helper!

The afternoon was a celebration of EDAS/REACH's new office, garden and counselling space, and it was officially opened by none other than James Baker, a faithful all the way, no Traitors in our world!

Congratulations EDAS, and we really look forward to working with you more over the coming months and years too, jointly supporting some of our clients, and signposting across too.
