You'll have long noticed now that this page is not so much Watford based as 'the artists formerly known as the Watford Punk Collective' - and most, if not all of you, know why.
The WPC put on incredible gigs over a few years featuring hundreds of bands, dozens of which they told us we'd never get playing in the back room of a Watford boozer. We put on charity gigs, weekenders, Christmas do's... we did it all and we did with you lot.
But times change and things happen - the venue moved on, the WPC shipped out. Life took them all over the bloody map.
What did remain though was this page and this community and, Pete and I (Dan) are continuing the tradition of putting belting shows on where we landed (Derby and Glasgow respectively) and we still want to keep you informed as well as look back over the WPC years. We want to keep this page running as The Punk Collective because that's what we'll always be - the pair of us and each and every one of you.
We want to talk about punk - old records and new bands. Gigs we're attending, gigs we're hosting and, of course, whatever you lot are up to.
We have decided to drop the 'Watford' - not as a show of any ill-feeling towards it or the times we had there but out of respect for what the WPC was and meant to all those who played, helped out, attended, took photos, served pints...
So we hope you'll stick around to see what we get up to next.
Cheers all.
