CHARITY FILM NIGHT
FRIDAY 12th JUNE, 8pm
Crowborough Community Centre
WONKA (2023) (PG) 1hr 56mins
A poor and naive W***y Wonka has ambitions to open a chocolate shop, to celebrate and share the wonderful recipes that his mother created. Coerced into staying at a boarding house and working for free at the owner’s launderette, Wonka befriends Noodle, one of many orphans who are effectively enslaved to the owner. This injustice further inspires him to fulfil his dreams and liberate his new friends. However, in a city renowned for its chocolate, he soon discovers that the industry is run by a cartel of three greedy chocolatiers, who bribe a chocoholic police chief into enforcing strict rules that prohibit any new producers entering the market.
