Projectionist, George Buckley, operating the original BTH type B projectors in the projection room at Chester Odeon during the heyday of cinemas in the mid 1940s. As the demolition of this once splendid structure is now underway and away from the mundane pictures of its destruction, this brilliant photograph taken recently by Paul Crofts leaves a lasting image of the lavish detail that architect: William T. Benslyn, designed what was the original stalls entrance on the side of the Gaumont Palace building that made it, for 30 years, such a special cinema.
