As the demolition of this once splendid structure is now underway and away from the mundane pictures of its destruction, this brilliant photograph taken recently by Paul Crofts leaves a lasting image of the lavish detail that architect: William T. Benslyn, designed what was the original stalls entrance on the side of the Gaumont Palace building that made it, for 30 years, such a special cinema.
