🎬 Our Summer Season begins this week!

Join us on Thursday 4 June at Chester Picturehouse for Diva (1981), the first film in our season celebrating the power of music on film 🎶

When a young Parisian postal worker secretly records a performance by a celebrated opera singer, he finds himself drawn into a dangerous world of gangsters, corruption, and intrigue.

✨ Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our final film of the season! ✨

Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague sparked a lively response from our audience, earning a score of 7.1. Viewers praised its distinctive style and exploration of filmmaking, while others found it more challenging. Particularly without prior familiarity with Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless.

We were also delighted to welcome new members to our committee following our Annual General Meeting. Thank you to everyone who participated and voted.

While our main season has now come to a close, we’ll be back soon with our Summer Season, celebrating music on film 🎶

Memberships remain valid until 31 August, so you can continue to enjoy £5 tickets for our summer screenings.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Palestine 36 last night 🎞️

The film made a powerful impression, earning an audience score of ⭐ 8.6.
While it explores the struggles faced by Palestinians in the 1930s, many of you found its themes deeply resonant today, described as emotional, moving, and an essential watch.
