JOIN US AT THE ABBEYGATE FOR A Q&A following the screening when we will be talking to writer/directors Marcus Brooker and Jonnie Howard about their film “Three Wise-ish Men”. Jonnie Howard Marcus G Brooker

Come along and find out more about how they developed an idea, originally intended as a short sketch for social media, into a Pythonesque short comedy, shot in Suffolk.

THANK YOU to everyone who voted for us - Abbeygate Cinema has been voted one of the 15 best cinemas in the U.K. in the British Independent Film Awards Cinema of the Year Award 🥳🏆

It is a great honour to be longlisted. We had an overwhelming amount of positive feedback - and you will be pleased to hear our General Manager Gareth read every single one of the 117 pages of comments 😂🙏🫶

The five nominees will be announced on 3 November, and the winner announced at the annual ceremony on 6 December. Watch this space…

(And whilst we would love to win, obviously, it’s great to have got this far. Thank you to everyone who voted, everyone who visits and everyone who helps make Abbeygate the special place it is 🤍)

And thank you to Kia UK for supporting the awards 🏆

Wild Horse Nine is coming, so we’re giving Martin McDonagh a little season of his own... 🎬

Three of his best films, back on the big screen at Abbeygate Cinema: In Bruges (two hitmen, one very bad holiday), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (grief, rage and a small town that can’t leave it alone) and The Banshees of Inisherin (a friendship ends, and it gets ugly fast).

Very dark, very funny, and the perfect run up to the release of Wild Horse Nine.
