🐼On April 20th, our film celebrated its China premiere at the huge and popular Beijing International Film Festival!
Thank you to Shuo Zhang from the Chineese film Archive for moderating & hosting the talk.
Our movie: Johnny & Me, received a lengthy applause, followed by a Q&A session. The audience had many thoughtful questions. I experienced an overwhelming openness, with no restrictions whatsoever. In fact, after the showing, I was surrounded for a long time. I spent an hour signing autographs and engaging in further discussions about the movie and its themes, and about how it touched the audience.
♥️Happy with the wonderful feeling that the movie is meaningful and necessary, that all the work, grappling with the uncomfortable past and questioning our own stance is worthwhile. Creating a film that empowers, rather than drains.
The last century was complex - what matters is what we do today. And that we never lose enjoyment and inspiration.

♡, I’m sorry to bother you, I was in the audience of tonight’s film. I like this film so much, and I feel lucky that I could watch it in the cinema. I am studying graphic design at university now, I really like the German design of that period in the film, and I’m also interested in the history of east and west Germany, so it’s a great experience for me to see a film which brings my favorites art form and history together. thank you so much for the film, and I hope I could see more of your works on screen in the future (ˊωˋ*)و✧
