We’re talking about a total of 11 Oscars and 7 Golden Globes (for Gravity, Birdman, The Revenant, and The Shape of Water) and, among others, 2 Golden Lions at the Venice Film Festival for Best Film following Cuarón’s win for Roma (presented, incidentally, by jury president Del Toro!), which followed 2018 win for “The Shape of Water.”

Wim Wenders‘ incomparable masterpiece from 1987 appears in a lavishly restored 4K version, which celebrated its world premiere at the 2018 Berlinale.

Not only are the impressive images of divided Berlin by cinematographer Henri Alekan and the extraordinary screenplay penned by Peter Handke unforgettable, but so is the music by Nick Cave, who can be seen performing live in the film itself.
Wings of Desire is a classic of German auteur cinema and has won several international awards, including the Golden Palm for Best Director at Cannes in 1987 and the German, Bavarian and European Film Awards in 1988.

Khoa Lê is a Quebecois multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker born in Vietnam. His works explore plural identities, intimacy, and the human experience in all its diversity. His first feature-length documentary, BÀ NÔI (2013), premiered at Visions du réel and won the Pluralism Award from the Inspirit Foundation at Hot Docs festival in 2013, as well as the Best Quebec/Canada Newcomer Award at the Montreal International Documentary Festival that same year.
