Happy Sunday, ! // Local filmmaker Osgood Perkins (you know him from movies like LONGLEGS, THE MONKEY, KEEPER) is both a longtime friend of the and now, one of the ’s team who have lent themselves to helping ensure the continued success of the venue.

We are delighted to welcome Oz to the Park Theatre this afternoon for a special double bill (curated by Oz!) featuring two iconic “Made in Vancouver” films, including Robert Altman‘s enduring vision of the American Western, McCABE AND MRS MILLER (starring Warren Beatty and Julie Christie) followed by Mike Nichols‘ dark comedy CARNAL KNOWLEDGE (Jack Nicholson, Arthur Garfunkel, Candice Bergen, and Ann-Margret).

Both titles were released in 1971, and shot on location at the same time, in the City. We can’t wait to learn more…

NOW PLAYING! We are beyond excited (and very proud!) to welcome former ticket seller, popcorn slinger and esteemed poster designer to ’s stage for a screening of her new, very buzzy indie family drama BLUE HERON, which is opening to rave reviews and critical acclaim basically… Everywhere.

“It’s a film that seldom comes out and tells you exactly what’s happening, but its drama is so lucid that before any real tragedy unfolds (or is even hinted at), you feel it in your bones.” (Observer)

“It’s a major film, one of the best of 2025, and an announcement of the deep talent of its writer/director.” (RogerEbert.com)

In the late 1990s, eight-year-old Sasha and her family relocate to a new home on Vancouver Island, but their fresh start is interrupted by increasingly dangerous behavior from the eldest son, Jeremy. At wit’s end, their parents are presented with a shattering choice. Award-winning director Sophy Romvari’s feature debut is a lyrical and profound testament to the things we carry with us, masterfully chronicling the haze of a languid summer and the hyaline clarity of the moments that defined it.

NOW PLAYING! Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh (TRAFFIC, ERIN BROCKOVICH) capably directs this black comedy featuring Ian McKellan and Micaela Cole in a sly, two-hander character study. Desperate for an inheritance, two siblings conspire to forge their father’s unfinished paintings so they become valuable after his death. With Jessica Gunning, James Corden.

“Had ‘The Christophers’ just been a cross-generational punch-up, the sort of flinty showdown designed to throw off pleasurable sparks, you’d still walk away content. It remains a conduit for two of the best performances you’ll see all year. “ (Rolling Stone Magazine)
