We were so saddened today to learn of the passing of the divinely talented and wildly charismatic English actor Tim Curry, whose devilishly handsome face is a frequent fixture on our screen due to his absolutely iconic turn as cinema’s sweetest transvestite, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, in one of the biggest cult-classic movies of all time,
THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.

And yes… We also loved him in CLUE and ANNIE and LEGEND (just to name a few).

Thursday, comedian T.J. 🛸 brings THE ALIEN EVERYWHERE TOUR to the East Van Laugh RioT stage, and TEENAGE S*X AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA 🔪🍭 keeps its ONLY-at-the-Rio run going, with an exclusive Q&A this Friday.

Saturday's stacked: Kristen Stewart and Cate Blanchett get tangled up with dangerous rivals in THE WRONG GIRLS 🧠✨, while director Simon Glassman joins us for BUFFET INFINITY 🍽️😱, a satire told entirely through cheap local TV commercials - and yes, the buffet is sentient.

Volume fourteen of sugar, cartoons, and zero grown-up rules /// THE SATURDAY MORNING ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT CEREAL CARTOON PARTY returns for Volume XIV, curated by David Bertrand, with three hours of retro cartoons, commercials and PSAs spanning the '30s through the '90s. Expect monsters, sci-fi, sleuths, superheroes and all kinds of 2D silliness, both favourites and deep cuts, plus all the sugary cereal you can handle. Dairy-free and gluten-free options are available, compostable bowls and spoons are provided, and you're welcome to bring your own non-breakable bowl and spoon from home. Kids very welcome.

For over two decades, HUMP! has been a platform for independent filmmakers to explore intimacy, identity and connection without compromise, growing from a bold experiment into a global showcase of boundary-pushing cinema. Hot, creative and kinky shorts (never longer than five minutes) are submitted from around the world, with the HUMP! jury curating the funniest, s*xiest and kinkiest of the bunch into a joyful, inclusive 90-minute experience celebrating all bodies, genders, s*xualities and kinks.

Tickets for this event are sold directly through HUMP!, not the Rio box office, and are priced in USD.

Intoxicated by the attention, and by the alluring presence of Gloria, the group's self-styled "tragic heroine" 🎭, Saxberger is forced to reckon with the authenticity of his newfound poetic circle. Great actors, the worst script in movie history, twelve hours to shoot it /// Tommy Wiseau's original THE ROOM (2003) infamously burned through $6 million and months of shooting with no-name actors. This reimagining flips the myth on its head, filmed in under 12 hours on virtually no budget, with Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Bella Heathcote (The Neon Demon), Kate Siegel (Hush), and Greg Sestero (the original Room), executive produced by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) and directed by newcomer Brando Crawford. With no rehearsal and only teleprompters to guide them, the cast embraced the chaos with Shakespearean gravity, turning cinematic disaster into unpredictable spectacle.

Followed by a live Q&A with director Brando Crawford and special guests. This is a benefit event for amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) and Blue Collaborative.
