Star Cinema Star Cinema is the local, independent movie theatre in the heart of Sidney, BC. We have two screens, one of which has been upgraded to a digital projector.

Star Cinema is a local, independent movie theatre that has been in operation since 1998. We value offering our patrons great customer service, affordable prices, a fantastic film selection as well as a friendly community feel. We change our film schedule weekly and we like to bring wide variety of films, from independent to foreign to big blockbusters. Our hope is to always have a film for everybo

dy. We are also a great place to host birthday parties, as well as rent out the theatre for private showings. Our ticket prices are $9.00(adults), $7.50 (seniors & students) and $6.00 (child - 13 and under). On Tuesdays, all seats are $6.00 for everyone! Unfortunately, one of our projectors has decided not to work today. We are working on the issue and hope to have it fixed as soon as we can. That being said we have to cancel two shows today:

Moana and Minions & Monsters will still play today at different times. Moana will play tonight, July 15th at 7:00, and Minions & Monsters will play this afternoon, July 15th at 2:00.

An incredibly moving documentary starts on Friday, July 10th at Star Cinema.

In the early days of the Russian-Ukrainian war Kharkiv, the country's second largest city, was turned into a warzone. On one side of the battlefield was the invading Russian army, on the other side, the defending Ukrainians, and caught in between them, was a zoo called Feldman Ecopark. More than just a zoo, Feldman Ecopark was an animal sanctuary that offered countless therapy programs to everyone from soldiers with PTSD to children with special needs. As the war ravaged on, the zookeepers risked life and limb to evacuate over 5,000 animals. It's impossible to watch this heart-tugging, riveting, and edge-of-your-seat documentary and not be moved. Beautiful storytelling that displays the best of humanity at a time when all humanity seems lost.

Minions and Monsters opens today at Star Cinema.
