See our new Spring 2026 schedule, starting this week with Hamnet! It has buzz.

Otherwise, two French films (A Private Life + Nouvelle Vague) with American lead actors. Cool!

POPCORN PROTOCOL

Our popcorn is delicious. But the bags are noisy in the wrong hands! Let’s do a refresher course in popcorn-eating etiquette with advice to help you enjoy your popcorn quietly so you, and everyone around you, can get the most out of our films.

The Painted Bag- Some of you may remember this one: Imagine the inside of the bag has a fresh coat of wet paint on it. To avoid touching it and getting all messy, you carefully lower your hand straight into the bag careful not to touch the bag and with your thumb and a few fingers poised to carefully grasp just enough popcorn that you can easily pop into your mouth. Withdraw your hand from the bag and, voil?. All done and not a peep!

A few other popcorn tricks:

Short Sleeves: Huh? Short sleeves? Yes. Make yourself at home when you are at the movies; take off that bulky coat before you begin to enjoy both the movie and the popcorn. Coat sleeves will be gone – less likelihood of getting paint on sleeves (see above). And if you really buy in to this call for courtesy, pare down some more and wear short sleeves!

Legs crossed: Though it may not be for everyone, it goes like this and can be combined with the short-sleeve life hack above. It’s simple: If you're right-handed, cross your right leg over your left leg. Then you can place the bottom of the bag on your left leg where it meets your groin and the bag will be leaning to the right and supported by your right leg. The angle of the bag, which can be adjusted, will allow you to reach into the bag with the right hand. Easy! And, if you're left-handed, left leg over right leg of course.

And finally,

Empty Bags: Finished the bag? Next step is to lower the open bag carefully to the floor beneath your seat against the wall behind your seat. Wait till the credits start to roll before you succumb to the human urge to crush that bag into submission. If you must let the bag know who is boss, wait till the show is over. And then to the garbage can with it.
