For 75 years, the Century Cinema has been more than just a place to watch movies. It has been a gathering place for friends and families, a destination for first dates and special occasions, and a cornerstone of our community.
To celebrate this remarkable milestone, we are producing a short documentary that will capture the history, memories, and impact of the theatre through the voices of the people who know it best: the community.
We're looking to speak with current and former patrons, staff members, volunteers, local residents, and anyone with a story to share about the Century Cinema.
Some of the memories we're hoping to capture include:
• The first movie you saw at the theatre
• Your favourite movie-going experience
• Family traditions connected to the theatre
• First dates, friendships, or special life moments that happened there
• Stories about working at or volunteering with the theatre
• What the Century Theatre means to you and why it has remained important over the years
You don't need to have a dramatic story, in fact, sometimes the simplest memories are the most meaningful. Whether you've been visiting the theatre for 50 years or discovered it recently, your experience is part of its story.
If you're interested in participating, sharing memories, photographs, ticket stubs, memorabilia, or simply having a conversation about your connection to the theatre, we would love to hear from you.
Together, we can help preserve and celebrate 75 years of movie magic, community, and shared experiences at the Century Cinema.
