Exfoliating gloves are typically designed for use on the body, not the face. Here are some reasons why you shouldn't use exfoliating gloves on your face:
1. Too harsh: Exfoliating gloves can be too rough for the delicate skin on your face, causing micro-tearing, irritation, and even post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
2. Risk of over-exfoliation: Facial skin is thinner and more sensitive than body skin. Over-exfoliation can lead to irritation, dryness, and increased sun sensitivity.
3. Damage to skin barrier:
Exfoliating gloves can strip the skin of its natural oils and cause damage to the skin's barrier function, leading to dryness, sensitivity, and irritation.
4. Infection risk: If the gloves are not properly cleaned and disinfected, they can transfer bacteria to the face leading to breakouts and infections.
5. Facial skin requires gentle, targeted exfoliation and care.
Exfoliating gloves are not designed to provide this level of gentle care.
