🧵✂️ CBEC AND NMBSTC LAUNCH CLOTHING MANUFACTURING SKILLS PROGRAMME

The Nelson Mandela Bay Science and Technology Centre (NMBSTC), in partnership with the Cape Business and Engineering College (CBEC), has officially launched a two-month Clothing Manufacturing Skills Programme aimed at equipping aspiring garment manufacturers with practical, industry-relevant skills.

The programme commenced on 5 October 2026 and provides selected participants with hands-on training in fabric preparation and cutting, industrial sewing, garment assembly, finishing, and quality control.

The initiative aims to promote skills development, enhance employability, and create opportunities for entrepreneurship within the clothing and textile industry.

📌 Important Information:
- Duration: Two months
- Training venue: Nelson Mandela Bay Science and Technology Centre, Kariega
- Transport and catering will not be provided.
- No stipend will be paid to participants.

Imbasa Primary School visited the Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre (NMBSTC) for an exciting educational experience featuring an engaging science show. The learners also had the opportunity to explore our floor exhibitions, interact with hands-on displays and discover fascinating scientific concepts in a fun and engaging environment. 🌍🔍

🔬✨ NMBSTC Participates in the Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu Science Centre Career Festival 2026!🚀

The Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre (NMBSTC) was honoured to receive an invitation to exhibit at the Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu Science Centre Career Festival, held in Cofimvaba on 09 October 2026.

The event was held in collaboration with the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI), the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA), and PROTEC. It aimed to provide Grade 9 learners with valuable career guidance and expose them to various career opportunities, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Innovation (STEMI).

Through our participation, NMBSTC contributed to promoting science and technology while encouraging learners to explore STEMI-related study pathways and careers that can shape their future.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers for the invitation and the opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists, innovators and future leaders. 🌍🔬

🔬💻 A Day of Science and Discovery at NMBSTC!🚀

Today, we were delighted to host Molefe Primary School for an exciting educational visit filled with learning, exploration and discovery.

The learners enjoyed an engaging science show that brought scientific concepts to life through fun and interactive demonstrations. As part of our National Coding Month celebrations, they were also introduced to the world of coding through a hands-on coding experiment, encouraging creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 🧪🤖

At NMBSTC, we remain committed to inspiring young minds and creating opportunities for learners to explore the exciting world of science and technology.
