A lot of TV stations have forgotten what "quality" means, but not Channel 62. They NEVER knew what it meant!

In the cult classic ⚡UHF⚡, "Weird Al" Yankovic is George Newman, a burger-flipping daydreamer who by some magic becomes the manager of a small TV station that's losing money as quickly as it's losing viewers. Before long, he's programming hits like Stanley Spadowski's Clubhouse, Wheel of Fish and Raul's Wild Kingdom, but can Channel 62's new popularity save it from sinister forces? (1989, 97 minutes, Rated PG-13)

Put down your remote control, throw out your TV Guide! It's crazy, it's zany, it's hysterical! It's TV according to Weird Al! 🪗

Friday, 3/20 at 7 PM, see 1989's UHF on the big screen !

George Newman ('Weird Al' Yankovic) is a daydreamer whose hyperactive imagination keeps him from holding a steady job... until he becomes the general manager of Channel 62, a local television station his uncle won in a poker game.

Unfortunately, the station is about 1 week away from bankruptcy. In a moment of desperation, George makes janitor Stanley Spadowski the star of a children's show and stumbles onto a ratings goldmine! Before long, endless reruns have been replaced with bizarre programming like Wheel of Fish, Name That Stain, Conan the Librarian, The Wonderful World of Phlegm and Raul's Wild Kingdom, where poodles learn to fly!

As Channel 62's ratings rise, so does the wrath of TV mogul R.J. Fletcher, who wants to buy the station and turn it into a parking lot. Can Channel 62 come up with the money it needs to stay on air? Don't change that channel, don't touch that dial! 📺 ⚡️

Tickets available at the box office or the 🔗 in our bio. Families welcome (some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13). Doors 6 PM, film 7. Snag a limited edish goodie pack for $6, or $5 if you wear a Hawaiian shirt! See ya soon! xo

When brilliant but eccentric scientist Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) successfully teleports himself, he doesn’t realize a housefly has entered the teleportation pod with him, triggering a horrifying molecular fusion! What begins as a revolutionary scientific breakthrough spirals into a tragic and stomach-churning transformation, forcing his lover, journalist Veronica Quaife (Geena Davis), to witness the death of the man she loves and the birth of something monstrous: the “Brundlefly.”

Four decades after its release, THE FLY remains a landmark of body horror and emotional storytelling: a cautionary tale of ambition, decay, and transformation. As the film famously warns: “𝘉𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥. 𝘉𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥.”

THE FLY has a runtime of 96 minutes and is rated R. The MPAA rating reflects graphic body horror, intense scenes of physical transformation, violence and gore, as well as some moderate sexual content and language.

Presented by The Emporium of Bangor, this one-night-only event invites audiences to experience the film that redefined modern horror on the big screen, @ The Waldo Theatre! Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the film beginning promptly at 7:00 PM. Tickets here: tinyurl.com/muwf8s5n See you soon! xo

Dr Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) plays fast and loose with the laws of nature. Experimenting with live matter transmission, the day comes to test the ultimate guinea pig... himself! But that's the day the fly gets into the works, and his DNA, genes and molecules are interwoven with that of the insect. Brundle watches helplessly as he is transformed step by step into a living, grotesque mutant — incredibly agile, super strong and driven by insane appetites he cannot control. 𝘉𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥... 𝘉𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥.

Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis star in this frightening update of the horror classic in which a man is transformed into an insect.

Seth Brundle (Goldblum) is a brilliant scientist who develops a system to transport objects in a matter of seconds. An intellectual hermit, his entire existence takes on new meaning when he falls in love with an attractive journalist (Davis) who inspires him to correct the system's last few flaws. Yet, when he tries it on himself, Seth's genes and molecules are accidentally fused with a those of a common housefly. At first, Seth is elated by the astonishing new abilities he's suddenly gifted with, but soon his excitement turns into a terrifying nightmare as his insect half begins to take over. Expertly paced by director David Cronenberg and sizzling with superb special effects, THE FLY is both a love story and a suspenseful drama masterfully combined as one immensely effective thriller.
