So on Saturday, several of our Olds Club of Florida members (17 in total) made a trip to Ocala today visit the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing and also have our monthly meeting there. The museum is an awesome place with many exhibitions and a trip through history. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cars, racing, etc. And yes, Oldsmobile did have some racing history back in the day. Vroom Vroom!
They had other exhibits as well--- i saw this ancient looking metal bedpan on display. Bedpans look pretty much the same today, except now they're plastic and no longer freeze the butts they're placed beneath. Honestly, all these years and we haven't really made any huge advancements in bedpan technology? Hmmm. I guess our bodily solid/liquid releases ain't high priority tickets like more powerful guns and missiles. Or faster streaming services without the buffering issues.
Anyways, here's a few pics from Saturday, including some with us all eating (aka making messy, sticky hands) at Sonny's BBQ afterwards.

Here's another good reason to have a dashboard camera in your car---- whenever you see something awesome you can watch it later and revisit it and save it. Especially if it's an Oldsmobile! Here I saw a 1956 Oldsmobile holiday 88 Coupe on the highway. There was a black 1950 Rocket 88 convertible right in front of that one but I couldn't get any closer. The really really cool thing was that I was able to pull alongside and roll down my passenger window and compliment her on her beautiful Oldsmobile. And to make it even better, her hair and what I could make from the top of her shirt we're done in '50s style. She looked like she just drove out of a Time Warp or something with that beautiful Oldsmobile. Here's a still shot from the footage.

Oh man, I really like this show too. So now I'm torn already between two different shows. This one starts at 11:00 and the other one starts at 7:00 so who knows maybe I can go to both😃😃😃😃😃

This is gonna be a huge 3 day event. Perhaps a little distance for some, close to others. But i went several times in the past.i was able to get the exact types of keys for my Oldsmobile to have a spare at this event one year. And you never know what cars are going to show up. One year somebody came in a fully restored garbage truck that was multicolored and played music. Yes, a fully restored garbage truck with iridescent changing paint... if somebody had told me about this and I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would have called out the "BS card". Another time they had a circus calliope in the back of a truck making circus music as it went up and down the aisles--- it was so awesome. And yes of course there will be Chevelles and GTOs and cla@ssic foreign marques. Vendors. And presumably food. I don't know what the bathroom situation will be like but I'm sure they will have some. It's usually a very big big event. So this is my plan for tomorrow during the day. Maybe I'll see some of the Olds Club people there, maybe other car friends... the weather is supposed to stay cool so I definitely don't want to waste a nice day. Summertime is just too hot to look at hot metal cars on hot asphalt. I believe most of this is on grass anyway.

Well in a few short hours it will be Saturday. And Saturday is a great day to enjoy cars. Old cars, new cars, muscle cars, cars with fins, all sorts of cars. So I'm pretty sure that one of these or perhaps more of these events might satisfy your need for cool and interesting cars.

Lol! It looks like you can find at least one Oldsmobile in Russia as well, with a Minnesota tag, so I'm guessing it was visiting?

When I vacationed in Scotland with friends a couple of years ago, I became curious as to whether or not there were any Oldsmobiles in the UK. Lo and behold, there were some Oldsmobiles for sale. Unfortunately, even a single Oldsmobile greatly exceeded the weight limit set by British Airways for my carry-on as well as check-in luggage. Oh well. So this evening I was walking to get my steps in and these random thoughts came into my brain again about whether or not there are Oldsmobiles for sale in other countries. So I decided to look at France. I typed in France and Oldsmobile on the Google search bar and yes there are Oldsmobiles for sale in France. I wouldn't know how you would get one back here without great effort, but if you happen to be living in or moving to France you may breathe a sigh of relief because you can indeed buy an Oldsmobile in France.
