WashU Ashoka Washington University in St. Louis's South Asian Cultural Student Group We are Ashoka- WashU's South Asian Student Association!

We promote the understanding and appreciation of South Asian culture through various different events during the year such as like our famous Diwali show in the fall and our South Asian Heritage Month and Holi celebration in the spring. Ashoka is excited to present our annual Diwali show, in-person after 2 years!! The Diwali show is a program filled with performances from our dance and acapella teams, a fashion show, and a student-led skit! Ticket sales begin OCTOBER 29TH and are $10 EACH!! Be sure to grab yours for any or all of the three shows, and we can’t wait to see you there!!

We want to extend a HUGE thank you for an INCREDIBLE spring showcase!! It was so heartwarming to see the community come together and put on amazing performances. We also truly appreciate all of you that donated to Apna Ghar; The link is still available in our bio for anyone that still wants to donate to such a noble cause. Celebrate Holi with us this week (PART 2)! Zoom link will be in our bio. Check out the WUGO event page for more details!

During the Virtual Holi Celebration, attendees can decorate their Holi squares and talk with other students on the Zoom call and get to know each other. We will also be sharing virtual backgrounds for people to use during the celebration.
On Monday April 19th, students can drop off their decorated Holi squares. The goal of collecting these squares is to ultimately create a collage reflecting our Holi 2021 celebration!
And don’t forget to pre-register for grab-and-go pick up (link in bio)!

Celebrate Holi with us this week!! (pre-registration link for grab-and-go pick up in bio)

Grab-and-go Holi packages will be packed leading up to the event; these will include a wrapped packet(s) of Holi powder, a colored construction paper square for decorating, one Holi 2020 T-shirt, and a few individually-pre-wrapped chocolates/candies! There will be scheduled pick-up times with a maximum number of 10 students allowed per time slot. Interested students must pre-register for these time slots to pick up their grab-and-go package.
