To quote Hunter S. Thompson: "It is time, I feel, for an agonizing reappraisal of the whole scene." That said, I'm taking off a year from pig farming. I have a lot of travel this summer and last year's wife mauling wasn't received overly well. We need a break. Plus I still have about 150 lbs. of pork to last us. I am going to redirect all energy spent on pigs to improving my golf game and deer hunting. I may raise 75 or 100 meat chickens instead. 6 weeks - nice and easy. I might sell some of these (frozen and packaged, like the pigs) or I might not. If I do, I'll pitch it on Facebook. Thanks for the patronage (I genuinely mean that), but I'm going Hollywood this year. Goodbye, Facebook. If anyone needs me, I'll be outside.

The, the, the, the that's all folks! 2016 pig season in the books. 6 years, 60 pigs. I'll be in touch with you individually about your pork. Thank you and goodbye for 2016, Facebook playaz. Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to go set the posts for the turfed, elevated driving range tee box before the ground freezes. 260 yards to the pin over the pigs' pasture. It's going to be dope.

Honorable mention to all star customers R.G. & T.T. for helping me load the last 6 pigs this morning. In case you were wondering, yes I did build that loading ramp and it is the one you saw on Modern Marvels. It came in 2nd behind the Golden Gate Bridge...

6 pigs got picked up 10 days ago. The last 6 get picked up Sunday morning. Almost done for the year...

Ladies and Gentlemen! If you are getting a half a pig or more from me you will be emailed an instruction sheet tonight or tomorrow. I need to have these sheets back to me no later than October 8th. First 6 pigs get picked up on October 9th. Thanks!!!

I'd like to thank all 10 of the athletes who competed in the 5th Annual Kelly Farm Golf Invitational last week for keeping property damage to a minimum and not getting on my nerves too much. I'd also like to congratulate this year's champ on a very gutsy win, that included him voluntarily invoking the new mulligan rule at the 2nd tee box. Bravo!

God's Proverbs say: "The just take care of their livestock." True dat. Kelly's Proverbs say: "Remember to keep your mouth closed when shoveling semi-liquefied pig manure." It's been 5 years...until 5:45 AM this morning. I didn't get a mouthful. But like gasoline in your iced tea, one drop was still way too much...
