Last night was a blast! Thank you to everyone who came out to support and congratulations to all of the film makers whose work premiered on the first night of the 2026 Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival!

We’re doing it again tonight! Night Two! There are more films to cheer, potatoes to eat, popcorn to pop, and awards to bestow. Hope to see you at the Georgetown Steam Plant doors at 6, show starts at 7

Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival is a guided film-making experience for amateurs and professionals alike. Sign up for a crash course in super 8 film-making and borrow a super 8 camera to shoot your project. We will facilitate film, processing, and digital transfer. You’ll then add sound and submit your final film for screening at our big festival event, September 11th & 12th.

That’s right! Our big festival event at the is now TWO evenings of programming. Thank you to our friends at the Steam Plant as well as on AV, on bar, and on Hot Potatoes for making this event great!

What’s the deal with Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival? You might be wondering..

It’s a guided film-making experience.

Sign up to participate by purchasing a roll of film on our website. Everything is included!

You’ll then register to attend a crash course. At the crash course, we tell you all about our festival and the process of making a film with super 8.

Then you can sign up to borrow one of our cameras. We’ll meet you at All City Coffee to give you the camera, film, and answer any other questions you have.

You have a week to shoot your movie, then drop the camera and film back off at All City.

We send your film out for processing. You’ll will get the digital file back in a couple of weeks. Then you can add sound and digital credits to your movie.

When it’s ready, send it back to us. We will program your movie to be shown at the BIG SCREENING EVENT in September.

You will get tickets to the event as part of the whole package!

If you get stuck along the way, we are here to help!

The Georgetown Super 8 film festival is open for everyone to participate!

Whether you live in the Georgetown/South Park area or somewhere else entirely, we want you to make a super 8 film.

Our guidelines state that a significant portion of a GS8 film must be shot within the Duwamish River Valley. How ‘significant’ is interpreted is up to the film maker.

Narrative, surreal, documentary, horror, scripted drama, and more! All are encouraged.
