Saratoga Film Forum Saratoga Springs' only Independent Cinema. We screen Independent films, Documentaries, and foreign f

The not-for-profit Saratoga Film Forum offers the film-loving community in our upstate region an opportunity to enjoy and discuss high-quality films and other electronic media productions in downtown Saratoga Springs. Among the genres represented in our program are: dramatic features (foreign and domestic), documentaries, animated features, classics, shorts, and films or videos distinguished by th

eir potential for generating a public conversation. We program our films to appeal to a diverse audience with wide-ranging interests. We celebrate film and the electronic media for both their aesthetic value and their interactive potential; indeed, for two decades, the Film Forum has provided a cultural commons where movie-lovers share in a community defined by a shared regard for film. Our programming gives special stress to enhanced “forum” events, when films are paired with panels, lectures, concerts, and other presentations. Founded on principles of community involvement, the grassroots Film Forum solicits suggestions for its program from film enthusiasts and welcomes partnered presentations with other not-for-profit groups in our community.

Our attendance and reservations dropped significantly this week. We have decided to cancel the Sunday screening of RiverBlue. We have experienced no reservations for Sunday and very low turnout to all of our earlier screenings. We attribute this to concerns about Covid 19, especially since there are now documented cases in Saratoga County and other nearby counties. We highly recommend this film and hope you will take the opportunity to see it in another setting. We are putting a hold in scheduling additional events until we are able to have more data on the impact of Covid 19 on our regional community. Stay well!

SFF is cancelling the Sunday (March 8) screening of RiverBlue -

We have had extremely low turnout for the RiverBlue screening and just one reservation for the Sunday screening. (Thank you to those that did attend!). However, we believe that a significant factor is Covid-19. With several new cases in our region, we have decided to cancel the Sunday, March 8th sc...

When we go shopping for clothes (and shoes), we don't really think about how our clothes our made. In a lot of cases, it's not what you think. RiverBlue explores textile manufacturing, and how this industry is harming critical waterways and human health. Some of the footage is shocking, but important to know. We hope you'll join us. We're screening Thursday - Sunday (3/5 - 3/8). [ 36 more words ]

Fashion and the clothing industry has changed a lot in the last 20 years. We buy a lot more clothes than we used to and they don't last as long. The fast-fashion movement has created significant issues for our planet. Don't miss this excellent documentary.

We had a sell-out crowd each night this week. Unfortunately the weather on Friday shut down Saratoga Springs and we didn't get to do our Oscar-Nominated Documentaries. All of the Oscar-nominated films are worthwhile, but the documentaries, in our opinion are extra-special. So we are offering another screening of the docs this Thursday, February 13. Screenings will begin at 7 pm. (This is earlier than our typical time, but the Docs run a bit longer than feature films.) Box Office opens at 6:30 pm.
