GAZE is a film series based out of Artists’ Television Access in San Francisco that prioritizes work by Women, Trans, Genderqueer, and Non-binary artists. We promote artistic expression rooted in feminist politics, and foster dialogue around theories of the moving image as they relate to experiences of people of marginalized genders. As part of the Bay Area's robust network of experimental film communities, we seek to showcase the surreal, experimental, political, abstract, narrative, personal, and documentary forms.
Currently, GAZE is curated by Alex Cruse, Shibean Edamame and Nicky Tavares. Past GAZE curators have include Mallary Abel Heaton, Adrianne Finelli, Targol Mesbah, Tessa Siddle, Diana Ruíz, Brenda Contreras, Kelly Pendergrast, Nadia Shihab, and Meredith Sward.
