About the Salem Civic Theater Association
The Salem Civic Theater Association (SCTA) is a group that is dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the Salem, MO Old City Hall Auditorium. The group plans to work with the City of Salem and other partners to update the theater and add the functionality of a single-screen cinema.
In addition to stage theater and live events, the facility will serve as a fully operational second-run movie theater, featuring blockbuster films only days after they open. Using this model, SCTA will be able to offer a quality, affordable movie-going experience to our local community while also generating additional funding to grow the arts in Salem and the surrounding area.
Below are some of the renovations and milestones the group and partners plan to achieve in building toward this goal, along with expected dates of completion for each.
