Playing with Lamb Chop today while taking photos of my new earrings from Dr. & Mrs. Melanie Leila👩🏻⚕️🙆🏻♀️💖 sent me down a rabbit hole of memories and reminded me just how much Shari Lewis inspired me. 💕
I watched “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along” long past the age of its intended audience, and when I eventually discovered the handful of clips from The Shari Show floating around YouTube, I watched them on repeat. I was fascinated by her technique and amazed by the speed, and clarity with which she could switch between characters.
As a child, I loved the fun and whimsy she created. As an adult, I can appreciate the extraordinary talent, dedication, and artistry behind it all.
Thank you, Shari, for creating one of my favorite childhood shows, for showing me what was possible through puppetry, and for being one of the remarkable women who helped shape the person I am today. ❤️
