BRIDES OF DRACULA (1960) &
THE GORGON (1964)
Saturday, October 24, 2:30 & 7:00 pm
Two hits from England's House of Horror, both in shrieking color!
In Brides of Dracula, young, blond Baron Meinster (David Peel) is the requisite vampiric threat in this second in the Dracula film series (sans Christopher Lee.) Though imprisoned in the family estate by his mother, Meinster is released from his silver chains by an unsuspecting French teacher (Yvonne Monlaur), through which he gains access to a veritable smorgasbord of nubile wenches at a girls' school. Fortunately, master vampire killer Dr. Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) is on the case.
Following this is The Gorgon, reteaming those masters of terrror, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Three people are mysteriously killed in a small town by being turned to stone. Suspicion falls on Dr. Namaroff (Peter Cushing), but Prof. Carl Maister (Christopher Lee), a folklore expert, claims that the murderer is actually a human possessed by the spirit of Magaera, one of Medusa's snake-haired sisters from Greek mythology.
